Theory and Methods, Applications, and Statistical Practice*.

Eligibility :

Eligible candidates must be currently engaged in research in statistics, theoretical or applied, and/or have contributed significantly to the profession of statistics through collaboration and leadership roles in an industrial or governmental forum. Nominees must either be a LIFE member or an active member of IISA for at least past two years at the time of nomination.
Eligible candidates will be strictly under the age of 45 throughout the award calendar year.

Nomination :

In order to submit a nomination, please include (a) a cover letter specifying the award track (i.e., theory and methods, applications, or statistical practice in an industry, government or non-academic institution) and outlining the significance of the candidate’s contributions relevant to the track, (b) a government issued id (e.g. passport/driver’s license) verifying the age of applicant, (c) a current curriculum vita, and (d) at least two additional letters of support (each no longer than 2 pages, 12 font size, 1.5 line spaced) that specifically comment on how the nominee meets the nomination criteria. At most one award is made in each category in a given cycle of nomination.
Please note that the selection committee may move (with the nominator’s consent) the award category of an application to a different one from the submitted, if the changed category is deemed more appropriate and increases the potential of receiving a higher ranking by the candidate. The YSSA will be presented at a ceremony during the IISA conference to be held in Mumbai during December 26-30, 2019. The recipients will receive a cash award and a plaque.

Any queries regarding this announcement should be directed to awards@intindstat.org

Note : From 2018, IISA has added the additional YSSA track in statistical practices to specifically recognize the contributions made by a junior statistician practicing in an industry or a governmental organization.
