IISA Student Paper Competition

International Indian Statistical Association (IISA)announces Student Paper competition for the IISA 2021 conference to be held virtually, May 20-23, 2021.

Awards will be given in two categories

  • Probability/Theory/Methodology
  • Applications

Winners receive cash awards and certificates.

Eligibility Students who are enrolled in an MS/PhD (or equivalent) program in Statistics or related fields on May 23, 2021 are eligible. Women and under-represented minorities are encouraged to apply. IISA membership is required (Student membership is free). Winners of the previous IISA student paper competitions are not eligible.

SubmissionThe student applicant must be the lead author (performed major part of the work) of the submitted paper.

The submitted application should include

  • Your paper - The paper should include an abstract of up to 1200 characters. The paper is recommended to be in 12 points.
  • Your CV.
  • Signed letter from your advisor on official letterhead - The letter from you advisor should include
    a) statement about your contribution in the paper, and
    b) your expected date of graduation.

Please collate all documents as a single PDF file and submit using the Google form https://forms.gle/vw6rguJHijNHvpNe6 by 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time (USA), March 31, 2021.

This submission is for review for the IISA2021 student paper awards. This is not a submission for publication.

Selection ProcessAwards will be given in two categories

  • Probability/Theory/Methodology and
  • Applications

Up to ten (10) student papers (5 in each category, will be selected for oral presentations. These 10 selected students will be eligible to present their papers virtually at the IISA2021 conference, May 20-23 2021. Selected students must register for the conference. Winners from each category will receive cash awards and certificates.

The student paper competition winners will be chosen based on the quality and content of the paper and the oral presentation and will be announced during the Awards Ceremony at the IISA2021 conference. A Student Paper Awards subcommittee will review and determine the winners.
